Constructive builds software for the construction industry, from products we license to platforms we operate. We have been developing software in-house since 1998, and today our software and platform engineering capability spans cloud platforms, design-stage AI and production systems.

Software and platform engineering is one of our core capabilities. We are a genuine product organisation: we own our codebase, architecture and roadmap, and do not outsource core development — the people who design our platforms are the people who extend, integrate and support them.

HOW WE BUILD

The same approach on every product: understand the operating model first, build in controlled increments with continuous validation, prove each release on live projects before wider release, and operate what we deliver. Delivery runs in three stages — a mature platform that meets most requirements out of the box, configuration to fit how a client actually works, and roadmap development where genuinely new capability is needed.

TECHNOLOGY

.NET Core and Angular; native .NET MAUI applications across iOS, Android and Windows; Microsoft Azure and SQL Server; an API-first microservice architecture; direct integration with fabrication equipment via industry data standards (BVBS); and Python machine-learning pipelines with deep-learning computer vision for our AI products. Self-owned hosting on Azure, deployable as a dedicated single-tenant environment where required.

ARCHITECTURE

Built for complex, multi-stakeholder operations: many organisations, projects and sub-projects in one platform with data and access partitioned at every level; configurable roles, actors and workflows; full-lifecycle chain of custody; standards and embodied-carbon validation; QR digital passports and an auditable golden thread. API-first integration with enterprise ERP, MES, quality and BIM systems (including SAP S/4HANA) using open standards (IFC, JSON, XML). For national steel-certification schemes we designed the canonical data schemas now adopted globally, with 150+ manufacturers connecting to them.

PLATFORM EVOLUTION

The platform has evolved continuously — from the original SteelPac Suite, proven across landmark projects over two decades, through a cloud evolution, to today’s Rebar Cloud: re-architected onto a cloud-native, API-first, multi-product-domain foundation. That same foundation is the Digital Construction Cloud, built to host further construction domains as distinct products, with Rebar Cloud as its first live domain.

CROSS-INDUSTRY CAPABILITY

Our software and platform engineering is domain-independent. The same teams that built the Digital Construction Cloud have delivered production systems well beyond reinforcement, and beyond construction: enterprise platforms for regulated industries, AI and computer-vision products for the design stage, and integrations spanning ERP, MES, BIM, fabrication equipment and robotics. Two decades of shipping software that runs live operations, in construction and beyond, is the proof of the discipline.
